So, Community. Best show on American television or best show on American television.
For serious. There are very few shows out there that manage to become better, not worse, over time; there are very few shows where the relationships between characters evolve in ways unrelating to romance; there are very few shows that remember small, seemingly one-off details and expand upon them to create new storylines; I am pretty sure this is the only show that did an episode almost entirely as an 8-bit video game. It's not a perfect show, but what is? It's fun and it's heartwarming and it's solidly-written and it's one of the most delightfully strange stories I've ever watched.
So. Six seasons and a movie? Six seasons and a movie?

I can't decide if I've reached a new low--or a new high--upon my choice of combine-whatever's-in-the-fridge breakfast this morning.
At least, in fairness, pesto tuna mayonnaise rice didn't actually taste that bad.
Kotetsu would have been proud.

Today, I awoke from a dream, dizzily unable to remember the particulars but firm in the knowledge that I had been envisioning that Sherlock's first appearance in season three would be some sort of elaborate amusement a la the various entrances of Jack Sparrow.
I think a cab seat was involved.

Things I did not expect to see when finally watching the genderswap episode of a wacky kids' cartoon: the acknowledgment of date rape!
--I mean, okay, yes, it went by very quickly and would have completely flown over the target audience's heads, but if you are older than the target audience and were only expecting wacky adventurous hijinks then it is a bit jarring. And makes you feel guilty about double standards because you never noticed the inherent problematic nature of the pairing when the 13-year-old is normally a guy and the 18-year-old is normally a girl. So, you know. Awkward.
But the character designs were great and Neil Patrick Harris was perfect and apparently due to sheer popularity there will someday be another episode that hopefully does not take a briefly dark turn. So that's good! And maybe next time we will actually see Marshall Lee and Lumpy Space Prince for more than like five seconds without even dialogue.
(I could make a post about how in their normal genders Princess Bubblegum and Marceline are sneakily some of the best female characters on television. Perhaps on a later date.)

The latest update in our bizarre season of US presidential campaigns mixing with Pokemon: the actual singer of the original English theme song, Jason Paige, has recorded a version of it remixed to support Ron Paul, and put it to video. You know you're in a special political climate when that's not even the strangest thing you've seen in this campaign season.

Due to watching the latest episode of Korra and then The Avengers the very same day, I can only conclude that I have a thing for stocky guys associated with the color green. Also apparently archers but Korra does not have that equivalent so I'm going to leave that aside for now. ( So here is me talking about The Avengers )In conclusion: more, please? Hopefully made by Joss Whedon since he seems to be capable of supreme competence in the area? Oh and Bolin I love you too, I am just too busy having Avengers feels from last night to be having as many Korra feelings as last morning. But I still love you. As does most of tumblr, it seems. Hush now, we will make everything better.

Strangest thing I have seen on campus today: An advertisement for a pro-life meeting using a screenshot from Horton Hears a Who with the caption “A person’s a person, no matter how small”.
I’m honestly not sure what to say about that.

Finished my second playthrough of DA2, because why not, and...feels. But first! I actually watched the credits this time, and thus discovered that Merrill is voiced by Eve Myles. No wonder she had the best accent. I wonder if playing a supporting character in an American video game is a step down for her or a step up. Both DA2 and Torchwood are rampant with bisexuality and inadvisable relationships, though, so that's a thing. ( And speaking of inadvisable relationships, this time I went with Anders, and, well. )In conclusion: I am going to go read fanfic that makes the disquiet in my heart go away. Probably not involving Anders, though. Because fuck you Anders. Fuck you and your poor life choices.

Every time I watch an episode of Legend of Korra or look at pretty fanart I keep wanting to tell my parents about it, which is...difficult. On one hand, they liked Avatar a lot! On the other hand, showing them anything remotely fannish has this weird disconnect, like they will not be interested in it, even if it is pretty and G-rated. Possibly this comes from my deep conviction that once they look at it they will be all "you're thinking about them having sex aren't you" and I will be forced to regret my semi-recent policy of telling the truth.
--okay mostly just cuddles but I've read it and I have no shame. Except maybe when it comes to telling my parents. But, um, anyway, yes, Legend of Korra! Is pretty great, and also pretty! With every new episode my love for Bolin increases exponentially. Also Korra. I guess Mako is okay. (But clearly the real main characters are Naga and Pabu.)
