Well, the US version of The Office seems to have turned out rather well, I think, but they did that by adding on rather than changing; the core of the show and the character dynamics are the same, but there's more characters, and naturally they get a lot more to do if they've got more than two (British) seasons to work with. And the US Who's Line Is It Anyway? is really rather good...but we shall not speak of the travesty that could have been the US Spaced, which thankfully appears to have dropped like a rock. *hasn't even seen the original, and still shudders*

I weep for my entire nation. I mean, I had held out a bit of hope until now considering who the producer was. I may even watch the first ep or two to attempt to give it a fair shot. But yeah... I really just gave up on the show, honestly.

I may watch the first episode, just to see how horribly they screw it up, and just so that I can be even further justified in warning people the heck away from it. But dear god, it better not become a runaway hit just because it's copied exactly the (very good) original plot of the pilot--if you want that, watch the original pilot, you fools! But I suppose it's too much to hope that the American TV-watching public will be sensible...

Thanks for that. Funniest thing I've seen in a long while. I wonder when those American TV companies will ever learn they can't keep making shoddy remakes of such brilliant shows.

Do we start taking bets on how long it'll last now or later?
(I bet 3 episodes for Viva Laughlin with my sister who bet 2 - she won that round. :P)

I personally think they'll get to episode four, then botch up the sex scene/plotline so thoroughly that the Prudish American Public will give it the axe straightaway. At least, I hope so. And I don't even know what they're going to replace the Test Card Girl with...
